Google Web Toolkit support for Chartle Framework
Full Google Web Toolkit support for the Chartle framework is technically possible as initial tests show.
Given the full support, the Chartle webapp could be easily deployed to GWT instead of Java/Swing without any changes to the code.

Open Source Chartle Framework
A compile-safe DSL-model based application framework with out of the box support for nice gui building, binding, context sensitive help, validation, I18N, full undo/redo support, etc.
Writing only plain Java model classes, development of the Chartle.net webapp was possible in 7-10 days.

Support small screen devices such as Netbooks better
The screen resolution of Netbooks can be as low as 1024x768. Having experimented with many different layouts, the Chartle.net web app could easily support such resolutions better.
As usual every compromise comes at an expense. Still I am considering it if enough people say so. Alternatively I could detect the available screen size and 'layout' the web app when started to deliver the best experience.

Private Chartle Gallery (exists but inactive)
Allow users to sign up and login. All Chartles saved will be stored in a private gallery instead of the public gallery.
This makes it easier to find your own Chartles and keeps your visualized data private.
Feature already exists but is inactive in the alpha phase of Chartle.net

Chartle History
An old Chartle can be the starting point of a new Chartle, which itself can span further reincarnations of itself. When opening a Chartle, the Chartle History displays thumbs of this Chartle and all its ancesters. Clicking on an ancestor thumb will open it.

Embed once, Edit repeatedly
The most cumbersome step in publishing charts, plots, maps and diagrams is to embed the URL of an Chartle image in your blog or website. You only want to do this step once. But what happens if you want to change this image? If you are signed in and create a Chartle you will get a URL for an image which you have to embed only ONCE. Later edits to this Chartle will directly reflect in the image returned by the URL, which the URL embedded in your site does not change. This feature is very powerful and together with… more

Internal Chart Renderer
Static Chartles are rendered using the Google Chart Service. An internal renderer exists (but wasn't made available to the user yet) which creates charts without sending data over the internet and while offline. Interactive Chartles are usually created without sending any data already but rendered inside your browser.

Comment on Chartles
We plan to give registered users (prevents spamming) of chartle.net the possibility to comment on others Chartles. This is supposed to start discussions and scientific discourse in the Chartle Gallery.

Develop the Organization Chart so that you can add non-unique nodes to any given parent node (in case you have more than 1 employee with the same name and position, for example) ie.
John Smith and John Smith are both clerk typists who work for Jack Lane.

implement gantt charts
There is a major lack of online gantt chart facilities. Considering there's a lot of projects going on out there, maybe this would be successful.

Add the ability to customize colors using hex codes.
Adding the ability to select colors precisely would give users more control over how their finished products looked.

Thanks for your input. SpiderChart == RadarChart, isn’t it?

Provide a url that I can send to people for viewing my chart
So they see a clean chart only, without all the embedding code.

Enable posting to journaling sites (e.g., LiveJournal)
Chartle should be able to be embedded into not just user-coded blogs, but at services such as LiveJournal.

Motion Graph Labelling/Colors
The motion graph default should be reversed with labeling and unique colors on - or least give you the option to embed the graph the way you want it displayed.
Options could be moved to the General table

Add a field to attribute data's source(s)
We're experimenting with Chartle on our newspaper's website and we often use data supplied by government agencies and other sources. We need to identify where we obtained the information on the Chartle, just like in a regular paper.
